Dynamic Balancing in the Field and Shop

Description

In this hands-on dynamic balancing course, the students will learn how to properly identify and diagnose unbalance as well as perform single and two plane field balancing. Attendees will diagnose unbalance using phase analysis coupled with traditional spectral analysis and will learn the single plane vector method in order to understand the balancing procedure. Tips and tricks from years of experience are shared with students throughout the course to ensure they can successfully perform dynamic balancing in the field.

The course follows Category II - IV Guidelines established by ISO 18436-2, "Condition monitoring and diagnostics of machine – Requirements for training and certification of personnel – Part 2: Vibration condition monitoring and diagnostics."

  • Properly diagnose unbalance
  • Conduct basic single and multiple plane field and shop balancing
  • Be able to perform vector splitting and combining
  • Recommend advanced two-plane influence coefficient or static/couple balancing
  • Interpret and evaluate published ISO codes of practice, International Standards and Specifications for balancing tolerances
