Reliability Specialist I - Field Service

Job Description

The Reliability Specialist I is responsible for performing condition monitoring using various predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies at refineries, power stations, and other manufacturing environments. This entry-level position will build upon the successful candidate’s technical background to provide clients with useful machinery diagnostics, maintenance recommendations and general plant reliability improvement opportunities. Any familiarity with industrial plants and rotating equipment is a plus, particularly about pumps, motors, fans, compressors and gearboxes.

The Reliability Specialist I position is for candidates that have 0-5 years of applicable experience.

The successful candidate will develop their skillset with Red Wolf Reliability, Inc. through formal training and significant on the job training. Successful Specialists will advance their understanding of vibration, infrared, ultrasonic and oil analysis PdM technologies. The Specialists will become certified Category II Vibration Analysts, Category I Infrared Analysts, and Category I Ultrasonic Analysts. They will also learn RCM and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) fundamentals by applying them in their daily role as a reliability specialist.

Tasks

  • Perform vibration, infrared, and ultrasonic data collection and analysis in Refineries, Power Plants, and other Manufacturing Environments as part of a predictive maintenance program
  • Learn how to diagnose common rotating machinery problems and write useful maintenance recommendations
  • Deliver reports in a clear, concise, and technical manner
  • Maintain vibration condition monitoring programs as a first line reliability specialist
  • Interact with onsite personnel (clients) in a professional manner to build customer relationships

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required
  • 0 – 5 years of general work experience and/or an associate degree preferred. Industrial technology certificate a plus
  • Strong consideration for those with general experience working in a plant/manufacturing environment
  • Must successfully pass DISA background check per clientele requirements and obtain TWIC card
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must successfully pass onboarding and random drug screening to include hair follicle analysis per DCCHA consortium requirements (marijuana users will not be hired and will be fired if random drug tests are failed)
  • Must have a Motor Vehicle Driving Record that allows us to add you to our auto insurance plan
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and walk or stand up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to wear a respirator while working for short periods and be medically cleared to be respirator fit-tested annually
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to work with various software and hardware
  • Basic machine and machine component knowledge preferred but not required
  • Will primarily be based at client locations and must be able to travel or relocate to client locations.
  • Must live close enough to the Fort Collins, CO office to deploy weekly from that location

Mechanical Engineer I – Field Service

Job Description

This position is for a new ME graduate or an ME with no applicable experience. The position of Mechanical Engineer I - Field Service consists of providing analysis and troubleshooting to maintain and improve the reliability of systems for clients of Red Wolf Reliability. Our mechanical engineers work closely with maintenance and process supervisors in various plants to maintain the performance of equipment.

Tasks

  • Collects vibration data on rotating equipment, analyzes and provides detailed reports as part of a predictive maintenance program
  • Coordinates with operations and maintenance supervisors for needed changes to increase reliability
  • Install and maintain permanent monitoring hardware of plant equipment for remote and online monitoring
  • Establishes and maintains preventative and predictive maintenance programs for equipment
  • Mentors clients and other Red Wolf staff on topics with known proficiency
  • Teaches introduction and intermediate level classes and helps to develop training material
  • Diagnoses root cause and specifies method of repair of plant equipment
  • Documents projects and technical work by writing detailed technical reports based on analysis
  • Stays up-to-date with industry standards to maintain, and adhere to engineering practices and guidelines required to achieve compliance with governmental laws and policies and industry best practices
  • Supports sales by being a technical resource and develops scopes of work
  • Supports Red Wolf Reliability internal projects
  • Provides additional consulting services including but not limited to dynamic balancing, acceptance testing, advanced vibration analysis, reciprocating engine, and compressor analysis, infrared analysis, oil analysis, ultrasonic analysis, ODS and Modal Analysis, FEA, RCM and RCFA facilitation, and PM task optimization

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 0 - 3 years of related experience with manufacturing equipment and plant maintenance preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Knowledge of manufacturing plant equipment, data acquisition, and analysis preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must successfully pass DISA background check per clientele requirements and obtain TWIC card.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must successfully pass onboarding and random drug/alcohol screening to include hair follicle analysis per client requirements. Due to client requirements, we are a no-drugs (including marijuana) company.
